SK1N Terracotta for a coastal project
This contemporary Southern California Coastal project - recently featured in the LA Times - features our SK1N terracotta cladding, handcrafted in Italy. Providing a similar look to a classic wooden shingle, this material holds up better to a coastal climate and is designated as a Class A1 fire rated product and a non-combustible building material.
This 7,488 Sq ft property requested a custom shade of our SK1N terracotta shingles which we achieved and approved as mock-ups prior to beginning production. Below are some images showing the production phases of our terracotta - from formation and air drying before firing, to packaging.
